From underneath a rock in Media Void

THE BULLETIN 2015

Living under a rock - It is to be a person who lives in isolation from and has limited knowledge of what is happening in the world around them. Used to describe an ignorant or obtuse person. Usually someone who lives in the basement of their mother's house.

Media Void - A ficticious city in a ficticious country which is free from all types of media and information. Where everybody in the city/state wanders aimlessly around uninformed about everything from the news, to weather, sports and politics.

The BDFL was well represented at the 2014 SEC Football Championship Game in Atlanta, Georgia

The Bulletin - Week 13 Another year with more of the same endless babble (or HDBS)

Brookside Dogs Maul ‘Nauts with Proverbial A.W.:

Could it be? Could it be that Mark Burr’s 21-year losing streak in the BDFL is in jeopardy? Could it possibly be that the Brookside Dogs are in contention for the BDFL Championship this season? The surprising and shocking answer to all three questions is “yes.” Okay, we’ll go a little slower for you, because we know this is very hard to believe. First of all, in Week 13, the Brookside Dogs slaughtered the Jugtown Juggernauts in Rocket Stadium, 61-26. That’s an epic A.W. Secondly, the lopsided vict’ry gives Mark’s Mutts a winning record of 7-6 (putting them above the Bullet Rule). And, finally, their 61-points, while almost certainly being an all-time high for the Dogs (WARTS and Elias Sports Bureau are still checking), it vaults the former Super Banker and current Synaflex CEO to the top of the Yellow Hammer Division. Wow! is right. “After a rough start this year,” said Dog, “I adopted my hero’s strategy of ‘doing the opposite.’ If it worked for George Costanza, I figured it could work for me. So far, so good.”

No Bullet Rule Casualties this year and No Bullet Win this week:

Them cheatin’ Cheetahs got me this week,” said a subdued Bullet Hand following Week 13 action. “I had a pretty good week, and Butch still managed to beat me,” continued Bullet. “I think he was mad ‘cause I reneged on supplying him free beer at the tailgate prior to the SEC Championship Game. I didn’t really mean to do it. But, you know, the Commissioner invited me to hobnob with him at the Westin, and Waffle House. So, I had a better offer.” Butch acted like everything was fine at halftime, but then on Sunday, the Sin Wagon unleashed hell on the Benton Boys, outscoring Bullet, 38-26. The loss completely eliminates the Bullets from the Big Daddy Championship Series (under the Bullet Rule), but the Bullets were nowhere near to top 8 in the BDFL Standings. Therefore, it can be said that – as of now – no BDFL Teams in the Top 8 in Total Points will be eliminated this year under the Bullet Rule, as all have now won at least 7-games.

Mayors Get to Seven Vict’ries by Edging Sloths:

One team “firmly on the fringe,” of the Big Dance is the Magic City Mayors. The Cronies powered past the Sloth Monsters on Sunday, 34-31, to pick up their crucial seventh win of the season. However, (by the Bulletin’s count – and not officially WARTS) the Mayors are 9th in overall points. They need to catch at least one team by the end of the regular season. So, that means (again) that “at least” nine BDFL teams are over or at the 7-win mark… and this year – maybe for the first time ever – no team in the Top 8 in the standings will be eliminated by the Bullet Rule. Got it?

Woo Crew Kills Wizards:

The first 10-win team in 2015 is the Smoke Rise Woosiers. The Woo Crew made easy work of the Pasco County Wizards, with a complete and total thrashing of the Pixie Dusters, 29-14. Tommy T’s team is a virtual (and maybe mathematical) lock for the BDCS with the overall point lead (439-419 over the Power Sleds).

Sleds Administer A.W. to ‘Dillos:

Speaking of the Power Sleds, Mad Jack Slovensky’s Mean Machine continues to crank on all cylinders. The Sleds “sickled” the Duncanville Armadillos in Week 13, with a big, old A.W. (that’s @$$ whipping). Kurt Prewitt’s team is all but relegated to the Big Mullet Series, which may be moved to AT&T Stadium in Big D in conjunction with Texas’ annual Opossum Convention and the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Dave Marcis Cotton Bowl Classic. Meanwhile, after their loss to the Mean Machine, the Armadillos were able to place another trophy on their mantle: the “Toilet Seat Team of the Weak.”

Slovaks Avoid Toilet Seat in 12-point Loss to Iron:

The Slovaks narrowly avoided the Toilet Seat award (by 1-point) by scoring 11 against the aforementioned Commissioner. ASlo – the white rapper – has, by far – the lowest Total Points Score of anyone in the BDFL, and has been a lock for the Mullet Series really since he joined the league. In fact, they may have to re-name the Big Mullet Series, the Slovak Series. On the other Hand, the Mineral Springs are in great shape for the BDCS with an 8-5 record and spot just behind the Sleds in the Grey Beard Division.

Warriors Humbled by Gamblers:

At press time, the Golden State Warriors were 22-0. Meanwhile, the Black Creek Wooden Warriors were 5-8, with 277 total points in the BDFL, and officially eliminated from the real playoffs. The death blow for Kawliga & Company came Sunday in Biloxi from the Gulf Coast Gamblers, who rolled past the Tribe, 32-25. Kenny Breal has plans to celebrate with Jeff Parks at the end of the year at Legion Field in Birmingham.

Blitz Beats BioCats:

In a match-up of two Mullet-bound teams, the Druid City Blitz (4-9) defeated the Western Hills Wildcats (3-10) by two points, 21-19. The Bulletin has been able to ascertain no other information from the contest except for the final score.

Meanwhile in the Jr. BDFL:

The regular season is over. The Fultondale Renegades finished with the most points in the Jr. BDFL, and with the best overall record (11-2). They will have a bye in the first round of the playoffs (Week 14). Joining Kevin’s team with a bye will be the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams: Walkers, Triple Threats, and Butterflies. The remaining teams have been “seeded” and will start Round One (Wildcard Round) this coming weekend.
