Newton tapped Numero Uno

In a sly and surprising move, the Magic City Mayors drafted Cam Newton first in the 2012 BDFL Genuine Draft

VESTAVIA HILLS - Eyebrows were raised and the room got quite, but nothing was said when the hosting Mayors selected Cam Newton #1 in the 2012 BDFL Draft. It was a gutsy move that will have the Cronies either contending for a second BDFL title, or negated to the Big Mullet Series come mid-December. The BDFL media experts had Aaron Rodgers slotted as the number one pick this year just like last year, but not many will argue with Newton's upside in the BDFL. Going second overall was Rodgers to the Nauts and then Drew Brees to the Cheetahs in the third hole while the Gamblers took a long-shot with Matthew Stafford with the fourth pick overall.  The new Armadillos ended up with a fitting Texas ground critter at #5 with the Arian Foster. Then the Grenadiers got grenade launcher Tom Brady with the 6th pick.

The Quick and the Dead as the RICKA Rule looms for many

AUDUBON - As soon as the ink had dried on the 2012 BDFL Genuine Draft, Terrell Owens was cut by Seahawks on Sunday night and the RICKA Rule was in effect. The Brookside Dogs were quick picking up the gifted rookie receiver Brian Quick from the Rams for the aging Owens. Other early RICKA moves include PK-Tucker/BAL to the Mayors. QB-Hill/DET to the Grenadiers, PK-Graham/HOU to the Woosiers, WR-Briscoe/WAS to the Blitz, TE-Clark/TB to the Wizards, PK-Medlock/CAR to the Gamblers and RB-Goodson/OAK and Morris/WAS to the Mayors.
