Like a stealth fighter in the night, the Druid City Blitz has hit the BDFL with Chuck Bronson like vengeance TUSCALOOSA – A week before the biggest game in the history of the world, in the same stadium, on the same field, the home standing Flying Druids made a statement of their own. With a 48-24 shellacking of the Mayors, the once horrid Blitz finally showed they belong along with the BDFL's elite in 2011. Some say the "true" German Invasion started in 1914 with the military invasion of Belgium, Luxembourg and France which in part started World War I. Others point to 1939 when the Nazis invaded Poland to start World War II. Many Alabamians say the Germans invaded Vance in 1997 when Mercedes-Benz opened their first automotive plant on American soil. However, the inside experts of the BDFL will always point to Week 8 of the 2011 season as football's "true" German Invasion when the Gritz Blitz downed the Pork Barrel Gang like a greasy meat and three at the historic City Cafe.
