Legendary Shootout

The Dixie Mafia puts a “hit” on the Gritz Blitz in a

BDFL record 57-46 shootout for the ages in Week 2

NORTHPORT – It was billed as a friendly USSSA certified Class D unlimited softball tournament at Kentuck Park, but turned ugly quick when two softball legends decided to start running their mouths. With the new Sunday liquor laws in town, the day started with, "I bet you I can drink more beer than you" from the Blitz. Followed by, "I bet you I can hit more homeruns than you" from the Real Deal. After nine innings of beers and dingers, the score was all knotted up at 46. Then as the sun set on the Black Warrior came the all important extra innings of heavy-duty bull$#1+ to decide the winner. The Gritz was able to stay with the Gambino for a few, but the Hitman finally delivered the deadly blow when he told one about him and his brothers going over to Favre’s house after a big win at Lambeau and eating vict’ry chicken with Brett, his "O" line and the Packers cheerleaders and it proved to be the difference in this "instant classic" shootout.
