WEEK 6 - WHERE'S THE BEEF IN THE BDFL?

Burning Down the House

The Rice Rockets catch fire to torch the Tree Huggers in an old-fashioned bra/barn burner at Driver Stadium

GARDENDALE - On a night to honor some of Gardendale's greatest, the Rockets gave up 61 on Friday night (which has to be a humiliating record for the venerable Driver Stadium), I thought I had seen it all. However at 51, watching the debacle with Rocket legends Ronnie Guin Chris Orazine, Scott Trotter, Richard Rouse, Chuck Belcher, and Mike Edwards on a homecoming nightmare, you realize you may have heard it all, but you really haven't seen it all. On Sunday at the 48 year old stadium, that looks as good as ever, the home standing 'Nauts put on a fireworks show to light up the Three-Toed Sloths 56-27. It was another case to add to the Sloth Monsters conspiracy theory against the Schedule Maker since their 27 points would have been enough to beat 10 of the 16 teams in Week 6. To cap off the vintage 80's weekend, here's the classic from the Talking Heads Burning Down the House.

Trades in the BDFL can help both teams improve their lot

TITLETOWN - The BDFL is not known as an open market league where players are dropped and added freely. Rather its rosters are built over time by the Genuine Draft, the Supplemental Draft and the Waiver Wire Week. If this is not enough to fix your roster woes, then look for a partner to make a trade. Scan the league's Rosters, and then send an email to the team you're targeting with an offer. Once the offer is accepted, send it to The Commissioner, Iron Hand, for his final approval. There have been three trades this season resulting in six roster moves. The trade deadline is before Week 11 starters are due.
