The Bulletin Week 10
Monday Night Football was a jailbreak as the Woosiers get 27 points from their con Vick to go to 9-1 Trailing Kawliga and the Tribe headed into Monday night the Woosiers were looking human after all. Then Michael Vick got flashbacks from the big house which led to a jail break out that hasn't been seen in the BDFL in years. The Hayden Haymakers may knock out all the competition before the Big Daddy Championship Series (BDCS) gets started. The Wondering Warriors have now scored 41 and 32 points on consecutive weeks with nothing to show in the win column. They are calling them the Black Creek Snakebits back home on the reservation.
The Dixie Mafia expands their Bayou La Batre bordello territory to include the Cahaba River Cathouse With the sluggish economy the Dixie Mafia has had to look for ways to expand their territory of influence beyond the Bayou. With some cane poles and baling wire, the Gulf Coast "Good Ol' Boys" put together a raft that Tom Sawyer would have been proud of and headed upstream on the Tombigbee, hung a right onto the Alabama and then a left to the Cahaba for a midnight rendezvous at the Cheetahs Queen of Hearts club. What they found there was theirs for the taking. First of all they upgraded the joint and starting charging the patrons a cover. Then they charged the ladies for the privilege to dance at such a pristine place and to get their money upfront. Finally, they passed the "touch and go" policy to get rid of the riff raff in short order. Now the place is all cleaned up and running smoothly. The only problem for the Cheetahs is all the cash is back on the raft headed to Mobile with the Gambino aka...The Kingkin of Hearts.
The Dogs win the Battle of Brookside to keep from having to move to Cardiff Home turf was at stake when the Slovaks came to town on Sunday for a reclamation project. Seeing the Slovaks built the small mining town with their blood, sweat and grit, it was time for a modern day "name it and claim it". However, possession is 9/10s of the law and the Dogs weren't ready to give in on their side of the tracks. When the sun finally set on a fat dog's behind, it was the Brookside Dogs who keep their team in town with a close 28-26 vict'ry that ended the Slovaks three game winning streak. After the game the Dogs went to Wayne's Place and then the VFW to celebrate and the Slovaks went to Wayne's Place and then the VFW to drown their sorrows.
Bomb Squad gets in a "fox hole" mentality to stomp the slithering Sloths with a hob nail boot The Sloths have always been the leading spokesperson for the "Schedule Maker Conspiracy Theory" and has recently recruited the entire Black Creek Creek Indian Tribe into their party. This did not sit well with Iron Hand and the league, so Iron's team, the Grenadiers (kind of like Bud Selig and the Milwaukee Brewers and no conflict of interests at all) had to adopt a "fox hole" mentality to be able to deal with the BDFL rank 'n file. So when the going got tough and it gets tough this time of year in the BDFL, the Grenadiers hunkered down when they had to to step on the face of the slowly slithering Sloths with a hob nail boot.
Wildcats over the PowerSleds in the Battle of the West Birmingham Metro Area All the old heads from UA and the West Birmingham Metro Area (Fairfield/Ensley/Pratt City/Hueytown/Wylam/Pleasant Grove/Central Park) were on hand for this ongoing saga between the old Tiger classmates and Bama roommates. Bufu, Tommy "Guns" Walburn, Big John, Pogo, Swiggy, Jasper, Coach Fuller, Bill Pitts, Frank Walton, Scott Blackstone, Mule Globetti, John Globetti, Scott Griffin, Jeff Burgess, Kenny B. Aldridge, Meatball Bentley, Gonzo, Dan White, and Keith McKeller, just to name a few were in attendance and down on the sidelines for this annual BDFL grudge match and they were not to be disappointed by the intensity of the battle. It reminded many of the old Fairfield vs. Hueytown match-ups when the Gophers had the guts to play the Tigers. The Wildcats almost skipped the game to go to a science lab where they were going to split an atom, but he up showed up right before kick-off to wax the PowerSleds at their own game...power football. After the game everybody gathered in Hueytown to eat chili and talk about the good old days and what it felt like to get beat by Gardendale every year in every sport.
Wizards pull a rabbit out of the hat to trick the Juggernauts In a push back to the New World establishment, i.e. Tampa Metro Parking Authority, Raymond James Stadium, K-Mart, foreign auto makers, the gubment, Pasco County's Redneck Coalition, the AEA, Obama Care, HealthSouth executives, Richard Scrushy, Don Seigleman and others, the Wizards took down the innocent Jugtown Juggernauts (except for the Honda plant job) by one 23-22 to stay alive in their quest to reach the BDCS. After blowing a gasket, the Magic Carpet Riders had just enough mojo left in the tank to coast to vict'ry.
Mayors and the Bootleggers make not so strange bed fellows Running whiskey and running for office has their similarities. First of all, neither is for everybody. Number two, you gotta have some money to get started, or steal some, and thirdly, you can't worry too much about who you do business with to be successful. With that being said, the politician knows the ridge runner well and vice versa. In this case, the Mayors knew the law and the lay of the land (West Birmingham before you get to Hueytown) better than the Bootleggers. The Mayors are still shooting for the moon and their second BDFL title while the Moonshiners have mailed it in for the year and made their reservations to Gulf Shores for their annual Mullet Toss ritual.
Blitz drops a bomb on the Bullets in the Black & Blue Gray Bowl This was a classic military match up...The Red Baron vs. Johnny Reb. Nazis vs. Confederates. Hitler vs. Lee. Tuscaloosa vs. Montgomery. Druid City vs. Benton. East vs. West. Lowndes Academy vs. Tuscaloosa Academy. ACA vs. Morgan Academy. What was billed in the Crimson White as the "all new" Blue Gray Bowl turned into the Black & Blue Gray Bowl fairly quick. The Bullets showed up at Kentuck Park in their wooly gray suits and waited patiently for the Blue Jackets to show up, but what they got was a bloody flyover by the bloody Red Baron. The Bullets were clearly outmanned and trying to fight an enemy that they couldn't even see. This was an easy killing for the Blitz's advanced air attack and could be a sign of things to come down the road if these two meet again in the BDCS playoffs. |
