Still Standing In the great debate as to who is better qualified to win the 2012 title, it was The Right over the Liberals in Week 5 FAIR PARK - With both team sporting unblemished marks coming in, you knew something had to give in this battle of Graybeards. It was billed as a classic struggle characterized as all great conflicts are of Good vs. Evil. It was Capitalism vs. Socialism. Democracy vs. Communism. Red vs. Blue. Work vs. Welfare. Jobs vs. Unemployment. Earn vs. Entitlement. Management vs. Union. Military Service vs. Draft Dodgers. Country vs. Rap. Suburban vs. Urban. USA vs. The World. It was the Heartland vs. the Big City. In the end, one team was just more prepared than the other and it showed who is really the class of the league through Week 5 with a perfect 5-0 record. Will this spell the ultimate vict'ry in late December, who knows, but for now the steady conservative "foxhole mentality" is working just fine for the undefeated Grenade Brigade. This coming Week 6 is the annual BDFL Throwback Week PARTS UNKNOWN - This year's games will feature former NFL or AFL teams that no longer play where they once did, a la the Houston Oilers, St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Texans, Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Colts, etc. Specific golden years have been chosen to highlight specific players and eras from days gone bye. The 1968 Boston Patriots were chosen for the Magic City Mayors since they opened that season in Birmingham while the 1987 Houston Oilers were chosen for the Pasco County Wizards since The Wizard was on the team that year.
