Dogfight Domination

The Dogs are flying high after a Week 12 air assault has Brookside contending for their first BDFL title

DRUID CITY - According to Mr. Webster, a "dogfight" is an aerial battle between fighter planes. Well in this game that could be half true since the Blitz never really put up much of a fight, but the match-up did bring to mind some of the classic dogfights of the last century. World War II gave us the Axis vs. the Allies. Charles Schulz gave us Snoopy vs. The Red Baron and Hollywood gave us Maverick vs. Iceman, but the best the BDFL can do is the scalded  Brookside Dogs vs. the dreaded Druid City Blitz. It wasn't much of a dogfight to begin with since the Gritz Blitz was all boozed up from the Iron Bowl and had trouble getting off the tarmac at the Tuscaloosa Airport. The Mad Dogs were mad because of the outcome of the heretofore mentioned instate rivalry and took out their frustrations against the defenseless Blitz, mostly in the second half as the two battled it out above Kentuck Park as part of West Alabama's annual airshow. The Blitz crashed and burned as usual and then the Dogs cruised on back to Synaflex.

AUDUBON - Statistics are said to be for losers. Basically meaning you can make numbers say and mean anything you want in order to prove your point, but not necessarily tell the truth. There was a lot of discussion on the chat rooms last week, but the facts are the facts and these facts are what the BDFL officially recognizes at this time...

1. Cheetahs lead the league with three (3) legitimate titles.

2. Grenadiers and the Gamblers have the most winning seasons with ten (10) apiece.

3. Fightin' Slovaks are the worse team to ever try to lace up a pair of cleats in the BDFL.
