Wizardz Winnerz

The great and glorious Wizardo returns to the BDFL in 2026 with his weekly game progostications

Wizardz Winnerz is back for another run

MIDDLE EARTH - He's back! To the surface. The great and glorious Wizardo is returning to the BDFL to resume his thrashing of the Evil Las Vegas Oddsmakers (ELVO) with his undeniably brilliant "prognosticatory" skills during the upcoming 2026 BDFL season. ELVO and their crafty staff of number-crunchers will research and handicap the BDFL match-ups each week and publish the official lines/spreads. Then on TheBDFL.com's Wizardz Winnerz page, each weekly BDFL match-up will contain a witty blurb and prognostication from the "Great One" with two, or three, games (at the Great Wizardo's sole discretion, of course) receiving a more in-depth prognostication. The gauntlet has been thrown down. May the best man win the BDFL's 2026 Prognosticator of the Year (POTY) Award.

DOG @ FRE (-3.5) MAY (-3.5) @ BEL

Week 8 Wizardz Winnerz...

Juggernauts vs. Sloth Monsters

Mike Dismukes and the “Transylvania Twisters” have spent most of the 2026 season getting tied in knots by their fellow BDFL counterparts but will look to turn the tables when Alyson Edwards’ and the “Foughty Ounce Shawties” come to town. And the Wiz predicts the Sloths will cut a wide swath of destruction through Jugtown in route to a badly needed dubya.

Wizard’s Winner…the Sloth Monsters.

Wildcats v. Bandits

To paraphrase Willie Nelson, many a fair maiden has lost their baubles to the “Winston County Highwaymen’s” trade and even more soldiers have shed their lifeblood on their blades, but Jerry James and the ChildCats have been more like child prodigies in recent weeks. To the extent they won’t be duly impressed by the sword-brandishing Bandits.

Wizard’s Winner…the Wildcats.

PowerSleds v. Armadillos

Jack Barnes and the Sleds took a shot of Pike County White Lightning before zapping the Sloths in Week 7, and plan to make a detour through Pike County on their way west to battle the “Texas Tumbleweeds”. Unfortunately for Kurt, the home team will fare no better than their brethren did at the Alamo. And moral victories don’t count for much in the BDFL.

Wizard’s Winner…the PowerSleds.

Blitz v. Vulcans

Nicholas Hand’s “Arm & Hammers” are coming off an impressive Week 7 pounding of Uncle Chris and have high hopes the only things the visitors will leave with is a bad case of the “Blitz Shitz”. However, the Wiz says the Blitz will leave with a big win and their “tighty whities” unsoiled.

Wizard’s Winner…the Blitz.

Cheetahs v. Gamblers

Kenny Breal has always thought his team was the “cream of the Basin Street Queens” but have found most Sundays have left them feelin’ lonesome, ornery and mean. Unfortunately for Kenny, Butch Neal’s “Mattress Dancin’ Divas” are well versed in leaving men with the same result, and empty pockets to boot.

Wizard’s Winner…the Cheetahs.

Mayors v. Bellcows

The Great Wizardo says you can never go wrong clamoring for “more Cowbell” and that Alan Arrington’s “Tammany Hall Hooligans” will learn that lesson as well when they leave Lawson Field Sunday night with their ears ringing and their pride bruised.

Wizard’s Winner…the Bellcows.

Grenades v. Bullets

The Hand Lane “Sibling Civil War” takes centerstage in the BDFL this week when Big Brother Chris takes a break from being Nick Saban’s “errand boy” to clash with kid brother Bullet. These two have been at odds since a falling out over who looked better in their matching maroon sweatsuits with white piping Christmas gifts in a Christmas Day photo. The Wiz says Chris had his foot propped up on a gift for the camera, so he at least looked the coolest.

Wizard’s Winner…the Grenades.

Dogs v. Freebirds

Mark Burr and the defending BDFL champion Dogs feel like their title defense has been snakebit although the Wizard says the “Fanged Furballs” will feel more like they’ve been hen-pecked when Jaimie Hands’ “Dirty Birds” rub their noses in doo doo. And make ‘em like it.

Wizard’s Winners…the Freebirds.
